About The Position

Students use safe handling methods to maintain clean habitats for rats and mice in the vivarium, ensuring they have adequate food and clean water. Students also contribute to the general cleanliness and organization of the Vivarium. The position aims to develop essential work skills and organization/planning abilities.

Requirements

  • Animal handling experience
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Willing to consider working during scheduled academic breaks
  • Able to work with limited supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Highly recommend being up to date on DTAP immunization

Responsibilities

  • Remove soiled bedding out of rat and mouse cages
  • Monitor and assess work load
  • Load & unload cage washer machine
  • Collaborate workload with co-workers
  • Clean cages & add clean bedding
  • Other tasks as assigned by professor
  • Provide adequate supply of food & water
