About The Position

The Student Success Student Aide serves as the first point of contact for students, employees and community members, contacting the Student Success and Retention Department. Student Aides must be able to provide exceptional customer service in-person, via telephone, and through written/virtual communication. Additional duties include helping the office with special projects, working student events, and demonstrating strong compassion for all those who utilize the resources under Student Success and Retention. Schedule Information: Will determine based on student's availability. Must have some availability to work during the following hours: Monday 8 AM - 4:30 PM Tuesday 8 AM - 4:30 PM Wednesday 8 AM - 4:30 PM Thursday 8 AM - 4:30 PM Friday 8 AM - 4:30 PM Maximum Hours Per Week : 20

Requirements

  • You must be a Harper student, enrolled in at least six credits during the fall and spring semesters and three credits during the summer semesters.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior customer service experience and/or office experience preferred but not required.
  • Foreign language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting students, faculty, staff, and community in the office and at events.
  • Check in appointments and walk-ins as needed.
  • Answering incoming phone calls and making outgoing phone calls.
  • Taking down and relaying messages for staff.
  • Helping guests in the office and at events.
  • Refer students to other departments for additional support as needed.
  • Assist with set-up and work events and workshops as needed.
