About The Position

JOB DUTIES: Develop and manage online orientation, transition and welcome programs for UF Online students, including online orientation (Links), and welcome webinars. Supervise office student assistants, including but not limited to selection, on-boarding, on-going training, and regular performance check-ins. Coordinate orientation and transition efforts for new transfer students through in person Transfer Preview (orientation). Includes scheduling of staffing, presentations, and tabling; planning with event services staff; and communication with students and campus partners among other logistics. Coordinate orientation and transition efforts for new PaCE students through in person PaCE Preview (orientation). Includes scheduling of staffing, presentations, and tabling; planning with event services staff; and communication with students and campus partners among other logistics. Coordinate and implement office communications initiatives, including but not limited to social media management and certain print and digital materials. Collaborate with and provide oversight of a student design team to support large-scale initiatives and events. Provide general support and communication for the UF Online Optional Fee Package program, including hosting webinars for newly admitted students, and communicate with campus partners regarding fee package changes. Manage campus partnerships supporting the transition on new international students. Instruct 1-credit first year experience seminar course (First Year Florida) for online first year students within the UF Online and PaCE programs. Contributes to the division and university through active participation on committees and division-wide initiatives (example opportunities: emergency dean on call, conduct committee, student welcome events, etc) Other duties as assigned. WORK SCHEDULE 8am to 5pm, 40 hours/week: Evenings and weekends required on occasion due to programming needs and professional development.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.

  • Qualified applicants should have graduate or professional experience in student affairs, with specific experience in directing a program or service area.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working with new student and family programs preferred.
