About The Position

The Student Accounts Receivable Manager at Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) is responsible for managing the processing, administration, billing, and servicing of student receivables. This role involves delivering customer support to students and families, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations, and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external partners. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Three (3) years of general accounts receivable experience required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to facilitate communications and collaborations required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, data tables, etc.) experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with student accounts receivable and Federal Student Loan programs preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students and families with billing and collections-related procedures and policies.
  • Ensure all communications to students and families are professional, appropriate, accurate, and timely, following FERPA guidelines.
  • Manage the processing, administration, billing, and servicing of current student receivables.
  • Prepare and administer alternative payment arrangements, such as monthly payment plans or individual promissory notes, in conjunction with the Financial Aid office.
  • Coordinate with Financial Aid, Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs to accurately calculate individual scholarship and enrollment status.
  • Process the drawdown of federal and state student aid after Financial Aid confirmations.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations between GL and Jenzabar accounts and any related subsidiary accounts.
  • Manage delinquent accounts and collection efforts.
  • Manage Perkins Loan Program and monitor status of all Perkins loans and place delinquent or past due accounts with collections.
  • Work with third party-processors to ensure accurate account information and activity.
  • Prepare monthly entries to record activity and reconcile receivable accounts; prepare internal financial reports.
  • Comply with all MCAD, state, and federal regulations regarding application of funds and annual reporting.
  • Provide timely and accurate student receivables reports, analyses, benchmarks and KPIs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
