About The Position

Financial Affairs: Financial Affairs partners with our UCF community to continuously improve and deliver outstanding administrative and financial services through innovative business and technological solutions and sound fiscal stewardship. The Opportunity: UCF's Student Account Services is seeking a Student Accounts Advisor I to join our team and support the university’s student financial operations. This customer-oriented position is responsible for posting financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner to the sub and general ledgers for students and university departments, while providing efficient and effective customer service to the university's stakeholders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
  • Applicant must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer, as sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a higher education environment with exposure to student services or administrative operations.
  • Proficiency in using common business software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, or similar programs) to enter, review, or manage information.
  • Proven ability to communicate policies, procedures, or complex information clearly and professionally, including through public presentations or group discussions.
  • Experience processing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, or reviewing payment activity for accuracy.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer service in a fast-paced or high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional, courteous and timely customer service to students, parents and other university customers, both internal and external regarding student payments, charges, holds, refunds, stop payments and returned checks.
  • Provides information on behalf of Student Accounts at Orientation.
  • Collects, verifies and corrects financial data from students, faculty, staff and other members of the university community.
  • Posts entries to the general ledger via the cashiering system.
  • Assists in approving departmental cash sales & customer payments in Workday.
  • Negotiates financial instruments and documents on behalf of the university, and prepares daily balancing reports.
  • Prepares and processes late fee and Repeat Course fee petitions, presents them to the Fee Appeals Committee and notifies students of the committee's decisions.
  • Presents information on behalf of the Student Account Services at orientation sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
