About The Position

The Graduate Assistant (12-month) for the Office of Student Accountability (OSA) supports the mission of OSA by serving as an integral member of the team. The Graduate Assistant serves as an instructor for multiple sections of Ethical Decision Making and Conflict Resolution courses each semester, facilitating student learning and engagement in topics related to accountability, ethics, and personal development. The Graduate Assistant for OSA assists with educational and outreach opportunities by presenting to students, campus partners, and participating at tabling events and New Student Orientation. The Graduate Assistant will collaborate with professional staff and students to support conduct investigations and contribute to the development and growth of educational initiatives offered through the office. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. This position will develop UA Career-Ready Skills such as Communication, Professionalism, and Teamwork. Requirements

  • Enrollment in a Graduate degree-seeking program at the University of Arkansas
  • A minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working on a college campus
  • Experience managing a classroom environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with a brought student population
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to multi-task in a high traffic area with constant interruptions
  • Ability to think critically and logically to solve problems as they arise

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience serving as a teacher or course instructor
  • Prior experience handling confidential or sensitive information
  • Familiarity with University of Arkansas campus departments
  • Prior experience in customer service role
  • Enrollment in one of the following graduate programs: Counseling/Counselor Education, Higher Education, Psychology, or Social Work
