About The Position

Employing specialized knowledge of Airbus’ aircraft structure repair engineering to resolve daily repair queries. Handling repair solution from the customer’s submission through the final approval (RDAF) issuance, while meeting the customer expectations for delivery. Analyzing customer queries related to structural damages against the Airbus Structural Repair Manual (SRM), and if the scope of the query if beyond limits, managing the repair for efficient treatment by the relevant engineering design office. Maintaining a strong interaction with Airbus’ Repair Solutions team across all global regions to support the customer 24/7, and liaising with Design Offices to ensure that requested repair definitions and justifications are provided on time with the required level of quality and related reviews. Collaborating and liaising with internal Airbus departments and entities to ensure that all repair solutions consider the availability of parts for each repair. Initiating the updating of structure repair documentation with the SRM (Structural Repair manual) organization when shortcomings are observed and ensuring the transfer of in- service experience and maintenance activities to both management and other divisions of Customer Services and Airbus design organization including vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Maintenance Technology, or related field and 3 years in any job title involving experience in aircraft structure including design, fatigue, and materials, and structural or mechanical repairs.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, bills of material systems
  • Working experience with repair and maintenance documentation, techniques, and procedures including Structural Repair Manuals (SRM), Service Bulletin (SB), and Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC)
  • Applying maintenance repair practices
  • Experience providing simplified explanations of complex engineering concepts and terminology related to commercial aircraft fuselage and wing repair to commercial aircraft operators
  • Experience maintaining and organizing aircraft documentation
  • Working with processes related to identifying and documenting repairs related to potential safety critical aircraft fuselage and wing components
  • Working in customer facing role with commercial aircraft operators for structural damage evaluation or repair work performance.
  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel required for training, business meetings, and on-site customer support.
  • Up to 40% telework permitted.
