About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Structural Welder to join our team. This facility operates as a job shop, primarily supporting the oil and gas industry, and fabricates a variety of custom structural components and equipment. This position is responsible for performing structural welding on heavy steel components according to blueprints and welding specifications. Typical products include structural skids, platforms, pipe supports, equipment bases, and other structural assemblies used in oil and gas operations. Candidates must be able to produce high-quality welds in multiple positions and work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with structural steel, strong blueprint reading skills, and the ability to maintain quality and safety standards. This role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work overtime when production demands increase.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a structural welder in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Ability to pass a 3G and 4G weld test
- Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
- Experience working with heavy structural steel
- Ability to use grinders and other basic fabrication tools
- Reliable and able to work scheduled overtime as needed
Responsibilities
- Perform structural welding on steel components using appropriate welding processes
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
- Weld structural components such as skids, platforms, pipe supports, and equipment bases
- Ensure welds meet required quality and safety standards
- Inspect work to verify proper weld size, penetration, and appearance
- Operate welding equipment and maintain a clean and safe work area
- Work with production and quality teams to meet project deadlines
- Follow all shop safety procedures and company policies
