Structural Steel Inspector
About The Position
We are seeking a full-time Structural Steel Inspector in the Columbus, OH area. The Inspector will perform on-site observations of steel connections, bolting, and more on various structural steel construction projects. Responsible for reporting and tracking any discrepancies through the completion of the project, and communicating with construction managers and construction crews to observe the quality of the steel erection. We are looking for an experienced Inspector who can hit the ground running.
Requirements
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS).
- ICC S1 (Structural Steel & Bolting) and S2 (Structural Welding) certifications required.
- 5+ years of structural steel inspection experience strongly preferred.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting project drawings and specifications.
- High school diploma.
Nice To Haves
- Fall protection/ confined space certifications.
- Engineering or related degree.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site observations of steel construction projects.
- Maintain consistent communication with construction managers and construction crew to observe the quality of the steel erection.
- Report and track any discrepancies through the completion of the project.
- Exercise authority to reject and resolve conflict within the scope of authority.
