About The Position

Peraton is hiring a Structural Engineering, Senior Advisor in a 100% remote support position. What you will do: Fatigue analysis by hand and Finite Elements of fatigue critical components. To include development and review of component fatigue strength testing, and flight loads. Analysis of aircraft usage based on data from on-board data recorders, to include evaluation of usage and generation of usage spectra. Application of statistics to determine the reliability of fatigue critical components based on statistical models of strength, loads and usage. Application of standard practice hand calculations of aircraft and component static stress analysis for validation/verification of structural integrity for new design, modification, or structural repair of airframe and rotor head dynamic components Development of structural airworthiness criteria, structural testing requirements, test witnessing, test plan development, determination of flight envelope restrictions, and analysis of flight strain/loads data. Requirements

Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA, 10 years with MS/MA, 7 years with PhD
Experience in Aircraft Structural Analysis with a degree in Engineering
Understanding of statistical reliability for engineering structures
Understanding of Classical Stress Analysis Techniques, Finite Element Modeling Techniques, Fatigue/Fracture Mechanics Analysis Techniques, and Aerospace Structures Design
Understanding of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced systems concepts, assess specifications and develop structural airworthiness requirements
Experience performing Finite Element Analysis using Patran, FEMAP, or ANSYS.
Experience with CAD modeling and reading engineering drawings.
Knowledge of structural bench testing, static and fatigue of aircraft structural components
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

Experience with analysis of rotor head (dynamic) components a plus
Experience with structural flight tests, such as Flight Load Surveys
Experience with composite structures is desired
