About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join our team in Roanoke, VA . This position is expected to begin in Summer 2026. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Engaging in diverse assignments that apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to complete tasks effectively. Following directives from senior engineers to fulfill assigned responsibilities. Adhering to deadlines while ensuring the delivery of high-quality work. Assisting in the creation of high-quality drawings and other materials to support the design development process.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field and must have completed at least 1 year of study.
  • Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions.
  • Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship experience with a structural engineering focus.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and other relevant design software.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly organized with excellent communication abilities.
