About The Position

Our Nuclear Programs is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy as well as commercial nuclear companies, delivering safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup, production and power generation sites. Services include engineering, construction management, consulting, program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, and nuclear operations. We are looking for an Early Career Structural Engineer to participate in the design process, assisting in developing design calculations, design drawings, and construction specifications for structures made of steel, concrete, and masonry. The work will support the Oak Ridge, TN office, focusing on new design challenges and expanding career skills while supporting the development of life-changing infrastructure that improves communities across the United States.

Requirements

  • Sole US citizenship required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations).
  • B.S. in Structural/Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school.
  • 0-3+ years of post-education experience.
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) certificate obtained or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Ability to follow and implement established quality procedures and ensure that all work accomplished is procedurally compliant.
  • Competence using Microsoft Office software.
  • Reside within commutable distance of our Oak Ridge, TN office.
  • Ability to learn new software as necessary for project success.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard for the employee or others.
  • Must take and pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, or MicroStation software.
