About The Position

Amentum is currently searching for a Structural Engineer Intern to work in our Englewood, CO office. The responsibilities for this position are: 1. Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. 2. Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience. 3. Individuals interning in Environmental Sciences (ES&H), Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science and Management Information Systems. 4. Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested. 5. Assist in the preparation of project calculations. 6. Assist in the production of design drawings. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Working towards Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a Structures Major (or equivalent education).
  • College or university student with a minimum of 90 credits.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications.
  • Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
  • Works independently and collaboratively with guidance and direction from others.

Nice To Haves

  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
  • Working towards Master of Science degree in structural engineering.
  • Coursework in Reinforced Concrete and Steel Design.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards, including AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC, and ACI 318
  • Working knowledge of STAAD.Pro modeling, analysis, design, and post processing or similar software tools.
  • Working knowledge and expertise in MathCad, Excel, and Word.
