Structural Engineer Intern
About The Position
Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering student for a paid internship for our Aiken, SC office. The undergraduate or graduate student will gain technical experience in the field of structural engineering. The intern will be exposed to a variety of structural engineering items potentially including: structural analysis using computer finite element analysis, structural steel design, concrete design, analysis of existing structures, exposure to ASCE, AISC and ACI codes and standards, and exposure to drawing creation using AutoCAD as well as engineering quality assurance procedures. The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, ability to interface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve. Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school
- Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program
- Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship
- Prior Merrick internship.
