About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to be based in Piscataway, NJ or Bloomfield, NJ. Our Structural Engineers are involved in planning, preparation and design for New Jersey transportation bridge projects. This is a wonderful opportunity to work on a variety of exciting design/build projects that are highly visible adding value to your career development. These could be small, medium and large projects, including long-span bridges. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise. Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others. Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects. Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package. Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings. Prepares technical specification sections. Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) years of relevant experience in transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Ability to hold a PE license in both NY and NJ within 12 months of hire.

  • Experience working with rail bridges
  • Experience working in NJ Transportation authorities
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering
  • Proficiency with CAD and similar computer software
