Structural Engineer - Highway Bridge Design
About The Position
AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to be based in Piscataway, NJ or Bloomfield, NJ. Our Structural Engineers are involved in planning, preparation and design for New Jersey transportation bridge projects. This is a wonderful opportunity to work on a variety of exciting design/build projects that are highly visible adding value to your career development. These could be small, medium and large projects, including long-span bridges. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) years of relevant experience in transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Ability to hold a PE license in both NY and NJ within 12 months of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with rail bridges
- Experience working in NJ Transportation authorities
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering
- Proficiency with CAD and similar computer software
Responsibilities
- Technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Prepares technical specification sections.
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
