Ensure all projects are designed and manufactured to support all required standards and codes to ensure safety and compliance at all times. These include all design requirements of structural steel and connection methods as recognized by AISC, CMAA, ASME and AWS. Ensure all detailing and drafting is performed in accordance with ANSI requirements for the presentation of information in accordance with national and state requirements. Serve as a Technical & Structural Subject Matter Expert (SME) for CC&H, including: All bridge crane technical specification management: this will include making decisions for/with team members on load and capacity requirements, calculations, and process related questions that will ensure safety, quality, and performance of all structural steel members and connection methods. This role ensures all forces are understood, calculated, and appropriately accounted for in the design, fabrication, and installation of bridge cranes and other hoisting equipment. These forces must be captured correctly, interpreted fully, and their effect on columns, runway structures and concrete must be interpreted correctly. All forces must be interpreted in accordance with CMAA and ASME requirements. All steel members must be designed and appropriated sized to handle the loading and forces created by the equipment. All connections (welding, bolting, etc.) must be sized correctly and documented in accordance with AWS and ANSI requirements to be executed by service teams. Ensure that all Critical to Quality (CTQs) are fully and clearly documented throughout the life cycle of every project in alignment with CIS Quality Management Procedures. Respond to shop, installation, or project team inquiries and process plan changes to overcome challenges. Project scopes and requirements can vary depending on customer needs and this role will need to possess a wide range of hands-on technical experience around all aspects of engineering, design, vendor management, service, manufacturability, integration, testing, installation, and post-installation support. Working with the Project Management and service team to understand all situations to the project scope and requirements is an essential component of this role. Examples may include: Collaborate with Sales to define customer needs and technical requirements. Support Work breakdown structure (WBS) development, risk management, and project estimation. Create installation diagrams, shop details, and other project planning documents. Develop 2D/3D CAD files in required customer formats and for incorporation into other system documentation and visualization tools (AutoCAD preferred) Design, identify, and fabricate metal framing, panels, enclosures, and related support systems and other HW components as needed. Develop manuals, installation standards, or other project documentation. Support risk management planning and test plan development. Collaborate with Sales to understand the Value Creation process and how best to maximize the Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy for each project. Partner with Sales, Customers, and Service Operations to develop customer requirements accurately and intentionally, often starting from concept development. Lead and collaborate with core team to document and interpret Voice of the Customer (VOC) information and to translate into Technical Requirements Support CIS Field Support Escalation process as assigned and required; troubleshooting may be billable and done in partnership with local branch teams and Service Technicians Maintain a valid driver’s license and operate vehicles safely.
