About The Position

This Structural Designer position is based in Arden Hills, MN, supporting the Minneapolis Complex. The role is responsible for creating and developing high-quality package designs, specifications, and prototypes to assist Account Managers in sales promotions. This involves investigating and procuring all necessary data for design development. The designer will collaborate with Sales representatives to select appropriate designs and then draw them. They will also formulate and communicate ideas for new or improved designs by analyzing customer needs and production feasibility. A key aspect of the job is using computer-aided design software to create samples and then processing these samples on a cutting table. The designer must be knowledgeable of production machine capabilities to assist in developing design specifications. Additionally, the role includes assisting customer service to ensure proper plate and die ordering and timely securing of master print cards.

Requirements

  • Associate to four-year degree with emphasis on computer aided design, CAD, and drafting, or applicable work experience
  • Competent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs required

Responsibilities

  • Creating and developing quality package designs, specifications, and prototypes to assist Account Managers in sales promotions
  • Investigating and procuring all data required to develop the design
  • Discussing design projects with Sales representatives and being able to select the appropriate designs needed and draw designs
  • Formulating and communicating ideas for new and/or improved designs by analyzing customer needs and production feasibility
  • Using computer aided design software to create samples then process the sample on the cutting table
  • Being knowledgeable of production machine capabilities in order to assist in the development of design specs
  • Assisting customer service to ensure proper plate and die ordering and master print card are secured on a timely basis
