As a Structural Designer, you will gain practical experience collaborating with Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to deliver high-quality structural design services for bridge and infrastructure projects in Michigan. Your duties will include participating in the design of structural projects, conducting technical analyses of project elements, and developing comprehensive design calculations. Location In office 5 days per week: East Lansing, MI or Novi, MI

Requirements

  • M.S. in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis, or candidates currently pursuing or planning to pursue a master's degree.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within one year
  • 0-2 years of bridge design experience or relevant structural engineering internship experience
  • Understanding of structural engineering principles, building codes, and design standards
  • Ability to perform structural analysis and design calculations
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to meet design budgets and schedules

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with MicroStation for developing structural plans and specifications is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis of bridge and infrastructure project elements
  • Develop load calculations and structural design computations for project components
  • Prepare organized, detailed structural calculations and technical documentation
  • Design and draft structural elements, details, and connection designs
  • Develop plans and specifications using MicroStation software
  • Prepare complete and reviewable task deliverables that meet quality standards
  • Complete assigned tasks on schedule and within established project budgets
  • Work independently under the guidance of Project Managers and Project Engineers
  • Review and check structural calculations and design work
  • Participate in coordination meetings with multidisciplinary project teams
