About The Position

JVA is seeking a full-time Design Engineer to join our Structural Engineering team in our Denver office. Successful candidates will be capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices in broad areas. Design engineers work in tandem with senior staff to plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work on projects of moderate scope or on a portion of a major project. EXAMPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES Perform structural design and detailing tasks for small, medium, and large projects. Produce structural graphic models, plans, and details using REVIT. Coordinate modeling efforts with other design engineers and BIM modelers. Create building analysis models using RAM or RISA. Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and perform field observations.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain Colorado Engineer Intern designation within six months of hire: Have the required combination of education and examination to obtain a Colorado EI designation within six months of hire.
  • Structural steel and reinforced concrete coursework : Familiarity with structural steel and reinforced concrete design principles.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaboration: Successfully work within a team environment.
  • Prioritize and Pivot: Produce high quality results while balancing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Initiative : Self-motivated to think ahead and proactively solve problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Foundation design and masonry design coursework: Familiarity with concrete foundation design principles and reinforced concrete masonry design principles.
  • Software Utilization: Ability to produce structural plans and details in REVIT.
