About The Position

When you join Design Group as a Manager, Structural Engineering P.E., you are joining a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world's leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our Architecture/Engineering Process Practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy. You'll work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for our clients. Together, you will help our clients make critical changes to improve their performance and realize their most important goals.

Requirements

  • A minimum of twelve years of architecture/engineering facilities structural design experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other industrial manufacturing facilities and processes
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a structural engineering design manager (preferred)
  • Experience in the analysis and design of structures with an emphasis on seismic design
  • Hands on experience with structural engineering software such as ETABS, RISA, RAM, STAAD, SAP, Mathcad, and ENERCALC
  • Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT (preferred)
  • Detailed knowledge of building codes and seismic requirements
  • The ability to present designs to new and existing clients
  • The ability to lead a structural engineering design team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Solid written and verbal technical communication including generating reports and conducting group presentations
  • A willingness to travel for project requirements including installation and start-up activities, client and company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, and conventions
  • A bachelor of science in civil or structural engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • A master's degree in structural engineer or engineering management (preferred)
  • A professional engineer (PE) license required. SE license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare design and construction documents for new structures and for structural upgrades to existing facilities as a part of an integrated multi-disciplinary A/E team
  • Lead a team of engineers and designers in the development of Structural design documents and deliverables for all project phases (conceptual and detailed design, feasibility studies, construction documentation)
  • Develop strong relationships within the region and the Architecture, Engineering, and Process, Practice in support of the Architecture, Engineering, and Process, Practice vision
  • Assume responsibility for client development, project profiles, strategic project implementation, and organizational planning and leadership
  • Mentor, nurture, and develop our BW Design group professionals
  • Develop new Structural Engineering engagements and search for new value propositions
  • Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and team
