About The Position

The Structural Crew Lead at Trinity Solar is responsible for performing general carpentry and structural repair work on residential properties, particularly in support of solar installations. This role includes roofing, siding, drywall, and structural upgrades, ensuring homes are safe, code-compliant, and professionally restored.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of carpentry, roofing, and general construction techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to assess structural integrity and identify potential issues or risks.
  • Flexibility to perform a variety of construction and maintenance tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • 1–3 years of experience in construction, carpentry, framing, roofing, or related trades preferred.
  • Comfortable working at heights (roofs) and in confined spaces (attics).
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn heavy equipment operation.
  • Valid driver’s license required; experience towing trailers is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Roofing experience, including repairs and shingle work.
  • Knowledge of structural reinforcement techniques.
  • Familiarity with residential construction practices.
  • Basic understanding of building codes, safety standards, and proper PPE usage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform carpentry work including framing, structural repairs, and modifications.
  • Assess project sites prior to work commencement to gather measurements, evaluate scope, and identify structural risks.
  • Conduct roof work, including diagnosing and repairing leaks and completing structural upgrades to support additional loads (e.g., solar systems).
  • Install and repair drywall and complete siding repairs related to construction or solar installations.
  • Make structural improvements such as framing and sistering rafters.
  • Dig and prepare trenches for structural or electrical work as needed.
  • Operate or assist with heavy equipment (e.g., trenchers) and safely tow and maneuver trailers carrying tools and materials.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site while adhering to all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Document all work thoroughly, including photos and site conditions; submit documentation in a timely manner.
  • Provide professional, courteous communication with customers and collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Follow all company vehicle rules and regulations.
  • Perform additional construction-related tasks as required.
