About The Position

Dewberry is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineer interested in developing their career to join our structures department in our Fairfax, VA office. The successful candidate will be part of a team designing simple and complex bridges (primarily of concrete and steel construction) and a variety of transportation related structures (retaining walls, culverts, and other miscellaneous structures). The candidate will be involved in the development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) packages, and assisting with bridge safety inspections. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited 4-year engineering college
  • 5+ years of experience in bridge and retaining wall projects preferably to VDOT and/or MD SHA standards
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
  • Proficiency using Microstation
  • Strong leadership skills and desire to deliver the highest quality projects to our clients
  • Proficient in MS Office (WORD and EXCEL)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree is preferred
  • Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred
  • Knowledge of OpenBridge Designer, Leap Bridge Concrete, CSiBridge, and/or similar analysis programs preferred
