About The Position

Parsons is seeking Mid-Level Bridge Engineers to join our dynamic team in Centreville, VA, Baltimore, MD, or Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful structural projects across the DC/MD/VA region and nationwide. We are looking for professionals with a passion for both conventional and design-build bridge programs who want to be part of a global company that has transformed over 4,400 bridges worldwide. In this role, you will work on a variety of bridge projects, including concrete and steel bridges, deck and superstructure rehabilitations, and innovative designs. You will have the opportunity to enhance your technical expertise while delivering high-quality bridge designs that meet the needs of our clients. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
  • 3-7 years of experience in highway/roadway engineering design is required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license and other relevant certifications may be required.
  • Proficiency in CAD and other engineering bridge design and analysis software tools is essential.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • FHWA In-Service Bridge Inspection Certifications is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan and design bridge structures to ensure structural reliability, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct or Lead In-Service Bridge Inspectors in the inspection, documentation, and quantification of deficient bridge elements.
  • Perform conventional and moderately complex bridge engineering tasks with precision and efficiency.
  • Develop engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, cost estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and junior Engineers working on the same project.
  • Serve as a lead engineer for specific disciplines on small to intermediate-sized projects or contribute as part of a larger project team.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality and continuous improvement through innovation, creative problem-solving, and delivering superior results.
  • Build and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
