Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support [ACLS (AHA)] - American Heart Association (AHA) preferred
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
  • Certified Cardiographic Technician [CCT] - Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred
  • Experience in or specialized training in stress testing and cardiovascular health stress testing and cardiovascular health 1-2 years required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure are all important for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for stress tests by explaining the procedure and answering any questions they may have.
  • Apply electrodes and other monitoring devices to patients to measure their heart rate, blood pressure, and other vital signs during the test.
  • Administer stress tests, such as exercise stress tests or pharmacological stress tests, to evaluate the patient's cardiovascular health.
  • Monitor patients during the stress test and responding to any issues or complications that arise.
  • Document results of the stress test and communicating them to the supervising physician.
  • Maintain equipment and ensuring that it is functioning properly.
  • Assist in the scheduling of stress tests and other cardiology procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement programs.
