In this role, you will perform structural analysis of aerospace components and assemblies using classical hand calculations and finite element methods. You will work within an integrated product team to ensure designs meet strength, fatigue, damage tolerance, and certification requirements in compliance with FAA/EASA regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on aerospace stress analysis experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MSC NASTRAN and/or NX NASTRAN.
  • Experience with FEA pre/post-processing tools.
  • Working knowledge of composite and metallic failure criteria, buckling, crippling, joint analysis, and fatigue/damage tolerance methods.
  • Strong written communication skills for formal stress report preparation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CATIA V5 or Siemens NX for interpreting 3D CAD geometry.
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter or Enovia PLM environments.
  • Prior experience on nacelle, thrust reverser, pylon, or aerostructures programs.
  • Knowledge of thermoplastic or thermoset composite analysis methods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis of metallic and composite aerospace structures using classical methods and FEA.
  • Develop, validate, and maintain finite element models using MSC NASTRAN or NX NASTRAN.
  • Utilize HyperMesh for pre- and post-processing of FE models.
  • Prepare formal stress reports, substantiation documents, and margins-of-safety summaries for internal review and customer/certification authority submittal.
  • Collaborate with design, materials & processes, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to support design reviews (PDR, CDR) and resolve structural issues.
  • Review and interpret test data; correlate test results to analytical models.
  • Support MRB dispositions, repair analysis, and structural repair documentation as needed.
