Be a part of state-of-the-art analysis for & missile systems at Lockheed Martin. Work on significant analyses involving structures, materials and strategic missile defense and flight systems. Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Flight Sciences Group supporting the FBM D5LE2 Loads & Dynamics effort in Sunnyvale, CA! What does this role look like? Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform detailed structural sizing, supporting design studies to optimize structures and meet program requirements. Conduct linear and non-linear static, dynamics and fatigue analyses using Siemens NX (equivalent FEMAP) and hand calculations through Roark, Niu, Bruhn, etc. Develop and validate high fidelity FEM models (meshing strategy, material definition, boundary conditions). Perform load case generation and factor of safety assessment for critical structures. Generating stress analysis technical memorandums and reports to support data packages, peer reviews, and external customer reviews. Support development of weight-optimized, compliant flightworthy components and structural assemblies which satisfy the contractual design criteria as well as any producibility requirements defined by Manufacturing and Quality Engineering. Produce clear, concise analysis reports, design briefs, and risk mitigation packages. Important Details The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at our Englewood, CO campus. Must be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
