The Strategy, Plans, and Policy Planner serves as Team Escalate’s primary integrator between CCPA Public Affairs execution and USCENTCOM’s operational planning, policy development, and senior leader decision cycles. Embedded within OPTs, JPTs, and coordination forums, this role translates command intent, operational plans, and evolving mission priorities into coherent Public Affairs strategies, guidance, and messaging frameworks. Working in close coordination with Assessment Analysts and Media Operations personnel, the Planner ensures public-facing products are anticipatory, synchronized with operations, and aligned with higher-level guidance while remaining responsive to rapid changes in the information environment. Primary responsibilities include: Leads and participates in OPTs and JPTs to integrate Public Affairs considerations into campaign design, contingency planning, exercises, and operational execution. Develops and coordinates Public Affairs Guidance, talking points, messaging themes, and supporting products aligned with commander’s intent, approved plans, and policy direction. Maintains continuous situational awareness of USCENTCOM priorities, operational activities, and emerging events to inform proactive communication planning. Coordinates across CCPA, CENTCOM directorates, Component Commands, interagency partners, and external stakeholders to synchronize messaging and avoid conflicting narratives. Collaborates with Assessment Analysts to evaluate effectiveness of Public Affairs strategies and adjusts guidance based on performance data and information environment trends. Supports crisis response and surge operations by rapidly developing decision-quality communication options that align Public Affairs execution with operational realities.
