About The Position

The Strategy Planning Sr Research Analyst is responsible for collecting, processing, interpreting, and formulating reports based on research findings. This position makes recommendations to clients and anticipates their needs. Additionally, this role applies both qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret data, handles numerous tasks simultaneously, prioritizes, meets deadlines, and prepares written client deliverables. In addition, this position presents findings and produces substantiated recommendations. Ensures resourcefulness, professionalism, and teamwork in all activities data and analytic tools as well as health care information systems and technology with an advanced ability to apply these methodologies to extrapolate data, analyze and report in a meaningful format to inform and drive local and division performance improvement activities. Functions as the local project liaison between engineering and the local clinical teams for Lower the Cost and Improve the Product initiatives. Functions as a key member of the strategic project and safety teams. Supports project development, coordination, and evaluation efforts. Specific functions include tool design, customer database programming, clinical and cost data extraction, analysis and reporting.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in a related field or Masters degree.
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
  • Proven market research analysis experience.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to draw information and conclusions from raw data.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel database programs and data analysis software such as SPSS, SAS, Access, QlickView, SQL, etc.
  • Expertise in research and evaluation methods, and survey techniques.
  • Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports.
  • Ability to function as high-level project manager for SVP and Admin Dir. As Assigned.
  • Must have ability to prioritize and analyze issues within department, and be able to perform effectively while working within tight time constraints.
  • Responsive to ever-changing matrix of department and hospital needs and acts timely and accordingly with changes.
  • Expresses ideas and thoughts well, both written and verbally.
  • Exhibits good listening and comprehension skills.
  • Broad knowledge of the healthcare industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word; working knowledge of SPSS, survey techniques, and research methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Revises and evaluates methods for collecting data.
  • Disseminates internal and external healthcare data and information to prospective clients.
  • Creates forecasting models for market share, volumes, and key business trends.
  • Assembles data for the yearly corporate strategic planning process.
  • Extracts, verifies, compiles, analyzes, and formats data from healthcare industry databases and other sources for planning, decision making, evaluation, and accountability purposes.
  • Maintains internal and external databases, providing timely updates and assisting in the design and ease of use of the data for the end user.
  • Monitors competitor activities, creates competitor profiles, and conducts competitor research.
  • Assesses all available information and assists with the formation of strategies for AHS. Prepares presentations of data for use in communicating with team members, administration, and operations.
  • Presents findings to the administrative team in a formal presentation style. Provides analysis and guidance to Senior Leadership. Writes and prepares narrative and statistical reports of findings and program updates, including indicator reports.
