Position Description: The Strategy & Insights Director, Proprietary Brands, is a senior leader responsible for shaping and driving enterprise-level strategies for ATD's proprietary brands portfolio. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, this role influences executive decision-making, leads strategic initiatives, and ensures governance and execution of long-term growth plans. The Director will partner cross-functionally to define strategic options, develop roadmaps, and oversee measurement of success, ensuring alignment with ATD's vision and commercial objectives. This high-visibility role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional business acumen and leadership capabilities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree
  • 12 years of related experience preferred
  • Strategic Mindset - Seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies.
  • Business Management - Ability to lead and oversee business units, driving strategic initiatives, and achieving organizational objectives. Proficient in developing and implementing business plans, allocating resources effectively, and optimizing operational performance.
  • Commercial Acumen - Ability and skill to use understanding of the ATD market and business environment and objectives in developing solutions.
  • Communicates Effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Influence - The ability to motivate and persuade others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Enterprise Strategy: Define and evaluate strategic options for proprietary brands, including market entry, product innovation, and growth opportunities.
  • Drive Decision-Making: Facilitate executive-level discussions, prepare board-ready materials, and influence senior leadership decisions.
  • Develop Strategic Roadmaps: Oversee creation and governance of multi-year plans, ensuring alignment with ATD’s corporate objectives.
  • Measure Strategic Success: Establish KPIs and frameworks to track performance and impact of strategic initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Finance, Commercial, Product, Marketing, and Operations to drive execution of strategic priorities.
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Leverage insights to anticipate trends, identify risks, and inform strategic pivots.
  • Resource Allocation & Prioritization: Optimize investments across initiatives to maximize ROI and brand value.
  • Executive Communication: Deliver clear, compelling narratives to senior stakeholders and external.
