About The Position

We are seeking a technically skilled and analytical Strategies & Reporting Intern to join our team for the Summer 2026 semester. This internship is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of business reporting, analytics, and strategic decision making. The intern will gain hands-on experience maintaining and automating reports, testing analytical models, and supporting strategy initiatives that improve operational efficiency. This role is ideal for students pursuing careers in data analytics, strategy, or quantitative business functions.

Requirements

Candidates must reside within 1 hour of our Columbia, MO or Chesterfield, MO office and be able to work onsite.
Enrollment in an accredited Missouri college or university in an undergraduate program in mathematics, computer science, or related field.
Ability to work from Chesterfield, MO or Columbia, MO office.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and Python.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with large datasets or business intelligence/reporting tools.
Familiarity with automation, analytics pipelines, or model testing concepts.

Responsibilities

Assist with the expansion of reporting and analytics into additional lines of business.
Support the automation of existing reports to improve efficiency and free up team capacity.
Take ownership of assigned daily, weekly, and monthly reporting tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Work with structured data to maintain and enhance business-critical reports.
Perform test runs of the AI Risk Segmentation (AIRS) model by removing lower-value variables to evaluate whether back-testing accuracy is maintained while reducing processing time.
Execute test runs of the AIRS model using different parameters to assess accuracy and runtime efficiency.
Analyze results and document findings to support optimization recommendations.
Collaborate with the Strategies team to understand business processes and contribute to initiatives that improve efficiency.
Participate in meetings where business decisions are made to gain exposure to the collections business and strategic planning discussions.
Assist with reviewing the performance of communication strategies to ensure they are executed at the most effective price point.
Support analysis of skip vendor performance to help ensure the organization is achieving efficient, cost-effective results.
Perform other analytics, reporting, or strategy-related duties as assigned.
