Are you experienced in Power-based products and their marketplace? This role centers around -Power-related products, and we’re looking for someone with solid market knowledge and meaningful industry relationships to help drive success! The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will support sourcing a wide range of products, including PCB boards, electronic components, sheet metal assemblies and other items across a global supply chain. This role requires strong knowledge of market trends and industry relationships, along with a solid understanding of specifications to ensure quality, compatibility, and reliable supply. The specialist will work with and build upon current relationships with the supply base while identifying and developing new suppliers to meet cost, quality, and performance goals while ensuring continuity of supply and mitigating risks. They will collaborate in cross-functional meetings to align sourcing strategies with organizational needs and SCO (Supply Chain Operations) objectives. Additionally, this role will lead sourcing efforts for New Product Introductions (NPI) and manage purchasing execution from order to delivery, as well as ongoing support for existing products.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in supply chain management, business, Engineering or related field, or equivalent directly related work experience required Must have a strong technical background and/or training.
  • Minimum of Three (3) years of experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain management, which must include Power related and/or Power manufacturing environment.
  • Contract negotiations and/or supplier relationship experience
  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings and product specifications to discuss with internal stakeholders and within the supply base.
  • Communicates clearly using the most effective method for the situation

Responsibilities

  • Follow Strategic Sourcing processes, including RFQs, item and supplier setup, and supply chain metrics.
  • Source components for various commodities using RFQs, including custom and off-the-shelf items.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers during NPI to identify sourcing needs and issue RFQs.
  • Analyze total cost to support supplier selection and business awards.
  • Review technical drawings and specifications; communicate requirements with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, including First Article samples.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms as needed.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives while ensuring reliable supply.
  • Engage with manufacturers to stay informed on product roadmaps and future availability.
  • Help develop and strengthen the supply base to meet quality, technology, and continuity goals.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and supply chain risks; recommend sourcing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Support pricing reviews and negotiations with suppliers.
  • Maintain sourcing data and report KPIs regularly.
  • Ensure competitive quoting and benchmarking for quality, price, and service.
  • Comply with legal and internal processes for onboarding and managing suppliers.
  • Collaborate across departments including engineering, QA, and supplier management.
  • Occasional travel domestically and internationally, including trade show attendance.
