Summary: The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for providing support to the Strategic Sourcing department, which includes execution of the department’s strategic plan, updating the tools developed and leveraged to facilitate supplier selection, cost and capital management tracking, risk management, and acting as a liaison between Strategic Sourcing and cross-functional internal team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Four plus years of related experience in Purchasing/Sourcing.
  • Experience in supplier management and contract negotiation.
  • Ability to multitask while properly prioritizing workload.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a cross-functional team.
  • Proficient computer skills and working knowledge with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel.
  • Continuous improvement mindset: Fundamental problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to bring potential solutions, not merely identifying problems.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate across functions and levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with plastics, metals, professional and indirect service suppliers, preferred.
  • ERP systems working knowledge, Oracle preferred.
  • Strong communication skills as well as proven experience working one-on-one with suppliers, business units, engineering, and other program sponsors, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Strategic Sourcing processes, such as product/service sourcing, supplier selection, pricing/terms negotiation, order processing, contract administration, and supplier performance management.
  • Manage projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision.
  • Support the execution of developed category strategies that improve sourcing of components and manufacturing.
  • Accountable for obtaining goods/services required by the organization including, but not limited to, Indirect Services (e.g., janitorial supplies, maintenance parts, compresses gases, etc.) and Direct Operations (e.g., raw materials and services and components for production).
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships to provide the best competitive advantage and utilization of the company’s annual spend.
  • Aid in managing existing contracts to support department objectives.
  • Assist in executing fundamental category management activities, such as data gathering, analysis and reporting, project support for development and new product/project teams, continuing engineering requests, product compliance requests, and helping to resolve delivery issues when escalated by Supply Chain.
  • Comply with all Quality policies while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the process of ISO, ASI, and other certifications deemed necessary by the business.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.
