This role offers a unique opportunity to manage indirect categories at scale for the world’s largest medical device company, while playing a meaningful role in driving sustainable cost savings, operational efficiency, and supply continuity across our global Operations Networks. The work we do matters—and so does the way we do it. As the Strategic Sourcing Program Specialist – MRO Operations Network, you will identify, lead, and execute sourcing initiatives that deliver measurable cost savings and economic value while supporting manufacturing excellence across Medtronic’s global footprint. You’ll partner closely with center-led category teams, manufacturing sites, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate sourcing strategies into execution, ensuring value realization, risk mitigation, and operational continuity. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant sourcing experience or an advanced degree with 0 years of experience

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain, operations, or a related function with strong analytical and project-based experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate in a highly matrixed organization
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative, results-oriented team player with a continuous improvement mindset
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives that deliver sustainable cost savings, improved total cost of ownership, and measurable economic value across global Operations Networks.
  • Analyze spend, demand, and market data to identify sourcing opportunities, support category strategies, and track savings realization.
  • Partner with center-led category managers to deploy pan-Medtronic sourcing strategies while representing site-specific and network requirements.
  • Drive supplier negotiations, including pricing, payment terms, and value-based agreements, to achieve cost optimization and supply assurance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Legal, Quality, and Compliance to execute sourcing strategies aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Support manufacturing sites through stakeholder engagement, site diagnostics, and value workshops to identify savings, standardization, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Leverage dashboards and reporting cadences to leadership to monitor cost savings, risk, and supply continuity.
  • Serve as a key communication liaison between manufacturing sites, sourcing teams, and suppliers to drive alignment, transparency, and execution excellence.
