Archaea Energy, a bp company, is a leader in landfill gas to energy and the largest renewable natural gas (RNG) producer in the US. With big ambitions, we specialize in the development, construction and operation of RNG, landfill-gas-to-electric and dairy digester facilities. The team operates around 50 sites in 32 states with a robust development pipeline. We are seeking a results-driven Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead sourcing initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and drive value across assigned categories. In this role, you will execute sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational excellence and supply chain performance. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on strategic thinking, analytical problem-solving, and delivering measurable business impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and driving supplier performance improvements.
  • Proficiency with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., Acumatica, SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing multi-category sourcing (direct, indirect, services, or capital equipment).
  • Familiarity with reporting or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, DOMO).
  • Experience with supplier scorecards, SRM programs, or operational excellence initiatives.
  • Master’s degree or MBA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned categories in alignment with enterprise objectives.
  • Manage sourcing events including RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, and award recommendations.
  • Conduct spend analysis, market research, and cost modeling to identify sourcing opportunities.
  • Track and report on savings, supplier KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor supplier performance, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and manage supplier relationships.
  • Support supplier risk management and alternative sourcing strategies.
  • Lead contract negotiations to achieve favorable pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Partner with Legal to draft, review, execute and amend supplier agreements.
  • Partner with Development, Operations, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, promoting best practices and process adherence.
