Strategic Sourcing Manager, PMO Operations
About The Position
Position Purpose: Home Depot is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Strategic PMO Operations Manager to manage our centralized PMO inbox, oversee key procurement tools, and drive operational excellence across the Strategic Sourcing team. This role is ideal for a systems-savvy professional with a passion for process improvement and cross-functional collaboration. Inbox Management: Own and triage the centralized PMO inbox, ensuring timely and accurate response to internal and external requests. Tool Administration: Serve as administrator and power user for five core procurement tools, managing access, configurations, releases, and troubleshooting. Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness. Release Coordination: Partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to manage tool updates and releases, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum value. Documentation & Training: Maintain up-to-date process documentation and support training efforts for new and existing team members. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sourcing, analytics, and procurement teams to align tool capabilities with business needs. Metrics & Reporting: Track and report on tool usage, inbox metrics, and process performance to inform strategic decisions.
Requirements
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
- Negotiation Skills - able to negotiate in adversarial situations to arrive at the best deal in terms of cost and quality to meet sourcing needs.
- Product Knowledge - a thorough understanding of the product category to which he/she is assigned.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge as an administrator of a tool (handling access, training, configuration, releases, etc.)
- Knowledge of Procurement platforms (ex: Zycus, Coupa, Ariba, Focal Point, Agiloft, etc.)
- Knowledge of AI and orchestration concepts (integrations, building agents, etc.)
- Bachelor degree in a related field of study
Responsibilities
- Negotiate for products and services within the assigned product category ensuring the lowest possible price.
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to assigned categories.
- Work cross functionally to improve and streamline processes.
- Initiate quality vendor relationships to support new and ongoing product and services sourcing needs.
- Evaluate vendor relationships and terminate if necessary.
- Work with stores and functional areas to best determine products and services to be sourced.
- Manage the vendor and resolve issues regarding product quality, delivery, etc.
- Work with purchasing operations to ensure orderly transition from initial deal to ongoing purchasing of products and services.
- Ensure accuracy and delivery of orders so that clients for the product group are able to complete projects and meet the Company's needs.
- Source qualified vendors to Sourcing who can meet purchase needs in terms of product quality, quantity, and delivery date.
- Identify and qualify vendors to provide product and services to Home Depot.
- Conduct research to assess vendor capabilities and product information as they relate to company needs.
