The Indirect Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for the strategic development, execution, and governance of sourcing strategies across assigned indirect spend categories (e.g., IT, professional services, facilities, marketing, HR services, MRO, and corporate services). Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Supply Chain, this role drives best-in-class sourcing practices, supplier performance management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver measurable cost savings, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading cross-functional sourcing initiatives, influencing stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization, and negotiating complex service agreements. The individual will possess strong analytical capabilities, a deep understanding of strategic sourcing methodologies, and experience managing supplier relationships within indirect categories. As a subject matter expert (SME), the incumbent will provide guidance on sourcing best practices, contract strategy, supplier governance, and cost optimization initiatives.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Experience: Five to seven (5–7) years of progressive experience in Strategic Sourcing or Procurement, with specific experience in indirect spend categories and supplier negotiations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives required.
  • Travel: 10–15%
  • Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements category strategies for assigned indirect spend areas aligned with enterprise business goals.
  • Leads end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives including spend analysis, market assessment, RFP development, supplier evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and implementation.
  • Applies total cost of ownership (TCO) principles to evaluate supplier proposals and business cases.
  • Identifies and executes cost savings, cost avoidance, and value-creation opportunities across indirect categories.
  • Monitors industry trends and supplier market dynamics to proactively manage risk and leverage opportunities.
  • Partners closely with functional leaders (IT, HR, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Facilities, etc.) to understand business needs and translate them into effective sourcing strategies.
  • Builds alignment across stakeholders in ambiguous or complex environments to drive sourcing initiatives forward.
  • Provides consultative support to internal customers on supplier selection, contract terms, and procurement best practices.
  • Establishes and manages strategic supplier relationships to ensure service performance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develops and negotiates master service agreements (MSAs), statements of work (SOWs), licensing agreements, and other commercial contracts.
  • Leads supplier performance reviews, KPI tracking, and governance meetings to ensure accountability and service delivery excellence.
  • Partners with Legal and Risk teams to ensure contractual compliance and minimize organizational risk.
  • Drives adoption of best-in-class sourcing processes, tools, and governance frameworks across indirect procurement.
  • Develops and tracks procurement metrics including savings, compliance, contract utilization, supplier performance, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Supports procurement transformation initiatives to enhance sourcing capability, digital tools adoption, and process efficiency.
  • Promotes contract compliance and preferred supplier utilization across the organization.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in strategic sourcing methodology and commercial negotiation strategy.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational influence and the ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment.
  • Defines work priorities and ensures timely completion of sourcing initiatives and deliverables.
  • Models company values and professional standards; acts as an ambassador for Procurement within the organization.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
