Create, implement, and own the global sourcing strategy and implementation for assigned categories. ­Ensure understanding of business needs and alignment of key stakeholders around the category strategy. Develop the category strategy using the SSB sourcing process and rigorous analytical methods, e.g., benchmarking, cost modeling, sensitivity analysis, global competitive market testing, end-to-end value chain TCO analysis, make/buy evaluation, etc ­Take a proactive role in identifying mid-to-long term risks associated with supply base; develop secondary/alternative source solutions (as required) ­Investigate new sources and markets for products and services that represent new technologies, value-added service offerings and price and/or feature advantages ­Drive the execution through implementation across SSB and supplier network leveraging/coordinating with the Business Stakeholders and SSB Sourcing Team ­Develop and maintain deep category expertise (e.g., industry trends, best practices, key technical/functional category understanding) ­Establish targets and goals and track the category's performance against them Strategies should be aligned to and result in achievement of target costs, service levels, and expected value delivery Manage category supplier relationships, in conjunction with business stakeholders, to control costs, drive superior quality, innovation and service, and mitigate risk ­Work directly with suppliers to drive cost-effective products and services as well as innovative solutions that meet all required objectives (Coordinating/partnering with business stakeholders) ­Negotiate National Supply Agreements to terms favorable for SSB along all key performance dimensions ­Define supplier KPIs to measure supplier performance; work with SSB Sourcing analytics team to implement supplier dashboards Establish supplier review process (e.g., QBR) with key suppliers

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of relevant sourcing experience
  • Bachelor degree required in a relevant field (Engineering, Supply Chain, Business)

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree a plus (MS in related field or MBA)
  • APICS or ISM(NAPM) certification a plus
  • Experience in manufacturing environment a plus
  • Experience in e-procurement systems/tools a plus
