About The Position

Primary Function of Position The Strategic Sourcing Intern will support a Global Supply Chain commodity team and partner with the Supply Operations team to drive continuous improvement. Strategic Sourcing’s main goal is to ensure that Intuitive has the right supply base to support our long term growth.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Excel/MS Office.
  • Demonstrated experience in quick learning new software tools.
  • Demonstrates concern for precision and thoroughness.
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills and results oriented.
  • University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program after the internship.
  • Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting May or June. Specific start dates are shared during the recruiting process.
  • Current enrollment in a Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related degree-seeking program at the Bachelor’s level.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP, Tableau experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain Risk Management – evaluate all materials in commodity portfolio, reclassify risk based on current industry environment, ensure transfer time and lead time accuracy
  • Cost Savings Analysis – lead cost savings analysis on current projects as well as candidate projects (update forecast, unit pricing, align with cross functional teams on probability of project success)
  • Capacity Management – review demand and supply capacity to ensure we have adequate capacity to support future growth
  • Contract Management – review contracts by commodity and summarize rebate terms. Analysis supplier spend to suggest cost savings opportunities for future negotiations (stale pricing, accurate volume tiers)
