The Strategic Risk Manager will provide fraud-prevention consulting to Accertify’s clients across various industries. This role requires expertise in card-not-present fraud, data analysis, prevention strategies, and performance monitoring. The manager will serve as a subject-matter expert in fraud prevention and the Interceptas platform, delivering insights and recommendations to improve clients’ risk decision-making and operational processes. Additionally, the position supports new client onboarding through Hypercare, offering training and guidance during Interceptas or Account Protection implementation. Collaboration with client onboarding colleagues to build tailored fraud strategy solutions and ensure optimal decision-making before and after “go-live” for Accertify clients will be a key component of the role.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in e-commerce card-not-present (CNP) fraud prevention and data analytics in high-volume environments.
  • Strong knowledge of payment processing, including chargeback rules, authorization, settlement, and global fraud mitigation strategies.
  • Proven ability to analyze fraud trends, interpret data, and present technical findings effectively to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with fraud prevention platforms such as Accertify Interceptas.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Splunk) and reporting platforms.
  • Solid understanding of database structures and SQL (Oracle, MapR, Postgres); Python experience for automation is a plus.
  • Critical thinking and strategic planning skills, with the ability to quickly learn and apply new technical concepts.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated problem-solving ability and results-driven mindset.
  • People leadership experience preferred, including team development and performance management.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Advise new clients on fraud risk strategies during the onboarding process.
  • Ensure solutions are implemented and tested before deploying the Interceptas platform to production.
  • Work with existing clients to design and implement comprehensive fraud prevention strategies and operational procedures to reduce fraud and improve efficiency.
  • Perform fraud-focused analyses to identify patterns and vulnerabilities.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to enhance risk decisioning.
  • Partner with onboarding and decision sciences teams to improve models and best practice rule sets.
  • Share insights to refine fraud prevention frameworks.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Risk team to develop new services and data-visualization methods.
  • Stay updated on emerging fraud trends and technologies; adapt approaches as needed.
  • Monitor platform releases and implement new features for Strategic Risk clients.
  • Ensure clients benefit from the latest functionality.
  • Build strong client relationships to deliver exceptional service.
  • Act as liaison between clients and internal teams, sharing feedback with sales and product teams.
  • Provide fraud and Interceptas training, including on-site sessions for clients.
  • Lead, coach, and develop consultative services fraud strategists.
