About The Position

The Strategic Relationships Principal will develop and execute cross-enterprise growth strategies between our network of distribution partners, broker/dealers, and financial professionals. This role will interact with key executives at existing strategic partner firms as well as across Cetera channels and communities and will have accountability for relationship building and elevating the partner firms’ visibility and engagement via sales advocacy, marketing, promotions, and educational events. The Principal will also be responsible for problem resolution, reporting on the growth of partner firm’s business, and ensuring the partner firms’ are achieving operational efficiencies within Cetera. This role will source, vet, and propose new relationships to drive Cetera’s strategic growth objectives.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience managing external distributor or vendor relationships
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the financial services profession
  • Product knowledge and subject matter experience in core product offerings; keen understanding of product design, distribution models, and economics
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized and responsive

  • Highly developed communication skills
  • A sharp attention to detail

  • Distribution, sales, and/or product management experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage Cetera Financial Group’s relationships with strategic distribution partners representing various product lines with a specific focus on life insurance products and independent third-party insurance and annuity distributors
  • Identify, recommend, communicate, and execute opportunities between all Cetera Financial Group business units, Broker Dealers, and strategic partners to drive sales, asset, and revenue growth
  • Source and negotiate incremental partnership opportunities that align with strategic objectives
  • Prepare analysis on industry and product trends that impact strategic partner opportunities and risks
  • Contribute to cross-enterprise initiatives to drive operational efficiencies for strategic partners
  • Other duties as assigned
