About The Position

BASF Automotive Refinish Coatings Solutions offers high-quality refinish paint brands and paint-related products to body shops from around the world. Our solutions are approved by the world’s leading automotive manufacturers for the repair of their vehicles. We provide collision centers with a vast array of solutions that help drive their business performance and efficiency. As a Strategic Relationship Manager, you will leverage strategic account leadership and deep industry expertise to cultivate and expand high-impact relationships with top-tier consolidators, MSOs, and distributors in the automotive aftermarket refinish sector. You will also drive growth through tailored solutions and support high-visibility, enterprise-level initiatives.

Requirements

  • Industry pedigree—minimum 6+ years in strategic or national account leadership within automotive aftermarket refinish.
  • Senior-level relationships—proven history interfacing with executive leadership at MSOs, distributors, and consolidators; adept at solution-based selling.
  • Sales leadership background, including roles such as Vice President or Regional VP.
  • Strong business acumen, reinforced by an MBA and credentials in finance—enabling data-driven strategic planning and ROI-focused discussions.
  • Excellent communication—confident presenting to and influencing executive stakeholders.
  • Remote and travel-savvy—self-directed working style, comfortable traveling 50–70% across the Americas.
  • Demonstrated success launching or expanding premium product offerings within consolidator channels.
  • Experience coordinating large-scale deployments or tech rollouts in multi-location MSOs or distributor networks.
  • Command of industry-specific digital tools and automation platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and nurturing relationships with the largest consolidators, MSOs, and distributors to ensure alignment with client business objectives and delivery of value‑added solutions.
  • Applying prior experience to identify growth opportunities within national and regional accounts.
  • Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Technical Services, and Operations to develop and implement strategic plans tailored to key accounts, leveraging previous experience.
  • Leading or supporting corporate‑level initiatives with high visibility, drawing on past engagements directing strategic partnerships and organizational projects.
  • Monitoring current trends, channel consolidation, and competitor actions to propose proactive strategies informed by industry expertise.
  • Championing the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and site visits, incorporating learnings from public‑facing insights.
  • Providing the VP of Sales with up‑to‑date status on account performance, pipeline health, and strategic challenges or opportunities.
