Job Description: This role is a hybrid position combining Technical Program Management with Technical Presales Solution Architecture support, purpose-built for HPC/AI strategic large deal pursuits. The role exists to provide execution discipline, technical orchestration, and delivery realism across large, complex, multi-quarter pursuits involving significant infrastructure, services, and partner ecosystems. The individual serves as the technical execution lead for the pursuit, ensuring alignment across sales, engineering, product, services, supply chain, partners, and executive leadership. Exercises significant independent judgment in pursuit structuring, execution strategy, escalation, and tradeoff decisions. Acts as a trusted partner to senior sales leadership, architects, engineering, and operations teams. Regularly interfaces with executive stakeholders and may mentor others on complex pursuit execution. This role focuses on technical program leadership, architectural validation, risk management, and cross-functional coordination to ensure that what is sold can be built, delivered, and supported at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8–12 years of experience in technical roles spanning solution architecture, systems engineering, technical consulting, or technical program/project management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating large, complex, cross-functional technical initiatives, ideally within enterprise or strategic sales pursuits.
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure, data center, cloud, or hybrid solutions strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of HPC/AI infrastructure and integrated solution architectures.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in high-stakes, executive-visible pursuit environments.
  • Strong program leadership skills, including dependency management, risk mitigation, and executive escalation.
  • Advanced cross-functional collaboration skills without formal authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complexity for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly around tradeoffs, constraints, and execution risk.
  • Solid business and financial acumen, including margin awareness, cost drivers, and delivery implications.
  • Highly organized, execution-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple concurrent strategic pursuits.

  • Relevant technical, architectural, or program management certifications are beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Owns technical program leadership for strategic deal pursuits, from early qualification through deal close and structured handoff to delivery.
  • Establishes and drives pursuit execution rigor, including integrated workplans, milestones, decision gates, dependencies, and critical path tracking.
  • Acts as a technical coordination point across sales, presales, engineering, product, services, supply chain, finance, legal, and strategic partners.
  • Enforces clarity of technical ownership, deliverables, and timelines, preventing gaps, duplication, or misalignment across teams.
  • Identifies, tracks, and manages technical, operational, commercial, and delivery risks, proactively escalating issues with clear options and recommendations.
  • Drives alignment between customer requirements, technical architecture, delivery feasibility, supply constraints, cost structure, and contractual assumptions.
  • Manages scope discipline and change control throughout the pursuit to prevent solution drift or unvalidated commitments.
  • Prepares and facilitates cross-functional and executive-level pursuit reviews, ensuring leadership visibility into readiness, risk, and required decisions.
  • Ensures a clean transition from sales to delivery, with technical assumptions, constraints, and commitments fully documented and understood.
  • Develops and institutionalizes repeatable strategic deal pursuit execution frameworks, playbooks, and best practices.
  • Provides hands-on technical expertise to support and validate solution architecture for complex, high-value opportunities.
  • Partners with dedicated Solution Architects and Specialists to ensure architectural coherence, feasibility, and scalability.
  • Reviews and challenges proposed solutions to confirm alignment with customer outcomes, delivery capability, and risk tolerance.
  • Contributes technical insight during internal strategy discussions, architectural reviews, and solution validation efforts.
  • Assists in the development and review of technical proposals, architectures, assumptions, and supporting documentation.
  • Provides informed input on technology trends, competitive positioning, and architectural tradeoffs relevant to large-scale pursuits.
