Strategic Programs & Planning Manager (Chief of Staff Team)

HPPalo Alto, CA

About The Position

Strategic Programs & Planning Manager (Chief of Staff Team) Description - We are seeking a high-impact, versatile individual contributor to join the Chief of Staff team supporting Ketan Patel. This is a "force multiplier" role designed for a professional who thrives in ambiguity and can pivot between diverse workstreams—ranging from complex program management and strategic planning to high-profile executive communications. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with the "connective tissue" required to link strategy to execution across the organization. You will be a part of a high-impact team, who works hard, drives many key initiatives across the organization, has a front-row seat with the leadership, and knows how to have fun! You would be a part of a unique and special team who supports one another and helps you be successful. Expectations are to identify gaps, drive the gray space, support the organization to drive things forward, be a learner and a consummate professional.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in Management Consulting, Strategy, or Business Operations in a global tech environment.
  • Exceptional storytelling skills; ability to create "board-ready" decks and write in a clear executive voice.
  • A "Strategic Observer" who listens well, builds trust quickly, and can navigate complex human dynamics.
  • A track record of "raising the bar" for others. You don't just get things done; you set the standard for how they should be done.
  • A "no task too small" attitude combined with the ability to think 10 steps ahead.
  • Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, matrixed global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Program Management & "Gray Space" Ownership: Identify organizational gaps and drive cross-functional initiatives to completion. You don't just "help"; you own the momentum.
  • Executive Narratives with Depth: Design and produce high-quality content for keynotes and customer meetings. We value substance over style—your work must show deep business understanding and provide a clear point of view, not just "pretty slides."
  • Strategic Observation: Act as an "ear to the ground." Observe organizational behavior and shifts in direction to provide Ketan and the CoS team with proactive insights and trusted counsel.
  • Operational Rhythm: Synchronize the "rhythm of the business" (Quarterly Planning, MBOs) with HP’s broader strategy, ensuring that every move we make is well-planned and well-formatted.
  • The "Swiss Army Knife": Lead high-visibility special projects with rapid turnarounds, high discretion, and a "no task too small" mindset.

Benefits

  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Long term/short term disability insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • Flexible spending account
  • Life insurance
  • Generous time off policies, including;
  • 4-12 weeks fully paid parental leave based on tenure
  • 11 paid holidays
  • Additional flexible paid vacation and sick leave
