About The Position

Weyerhaeuser Distribution is seeking a National Strategic Product Manager for Cedar, Board, and Pattern products. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, this role manages internal and third-party cedar, board, and pattern products across our Distribution business. The Strategic Product Manager will develop a comprehensive strategic plan, secure support from vendors, distribution centers, and the sales team, and deliver value to customers nationwide. Role Overview: The Strategic Product Manager works directly with key suppliers and site managers to steward profitable growth for the business. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of study
  • 10+ years of experience in building products industry
  • 5+ years managing strategic relationships (supplier or customer) at the division/region or enterprise level
  • 5+ years of large account buying and/or selling experience
  • Deep and wide experience with cedar, board, and pattern suppliers and markets
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent communicator and proven relationship builder
  • Strong analytical abilities to find and utilize vendor, customer, and market-related data to identify opportunities and solve problems

Nice To Haves

  • Prior national product management experience for a manufacturer or distributor a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Profitably manage and grow assigned product categories (Cedar, Board, Pattern)
  • Develop a concise strategic plan focused on vendors, sites, and customers, with an emphasis on expanding the product lines.
  • Maintain and grow strong regional and national supplier relationships
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, new markets, new product opportunities, and competitors
  • Direct product pricing strategy
  • Coordinate interaction between assigned suppliers and other departments
  • Maintain distributor and incentive agreements with selected suppliers
  • Initiate and implement product training applicable to your categories
  • Review performance of assigned suppliers; implement action plans for improvement
  • Develop annual marketing plan incorporating vendor, division, and product promotions
  • Willing to travel 25–35%25 of the time to company, vendor, and customer locations across the US and Canada

Benefits

  • Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $131,000 - $196,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 20%25 of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

  • Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our contribution equal to 5%25 of your eligible pay.
  • Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
