About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and detai l- ori ent ed Strategic Performa nce Enhanc ement Associate to join our Strategic and Financial KOE (Key Operating Entities ) M anagement team. The successful candidate will assist in managing and optimizing our portfolio of Key Operating Entities (KOEs), ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and financial objectives . The Associate will collaborate closely with the broader FP&A and CFO organization to strengthen analytics, governance, and insights that support decision‑making around large balance sheet investments.
The Strategic Performance Enhancement Associate is a member of the KOE organization (direct report of Head of Key Operating Entities with dotted line to KOE Portfolio Management Lead and KOE FP&A Lead) which is a dynamic team of individuals with diverse backgrounds that are focused on: Maximize KOE values, both individually or collecti vely as a portfolio Establishing a rigorous framework to monitor and drive performance on existing KOEs Strengthen existing enterprise-wide business relationships and push for additional synergistic partnerships Source new investment opportunities to expand KOE portfolio and/or replace underperforming entities Maximize value for MassMutual as a shareholder and ensure alignments of key interest
Performance Enhancement & Portfolio Insights Analyze performance drivers across KOEs to identify trends, risks, and val ue‑creation opportunities. Support quarterly business reviews and deep‑dive a ssessments with robust analytics and performance storytelling. Partner with KOE leads to generate insights and recommendations for senior leadership. Fair Value Measurement & Methodology Development Build, refi ne, and maintain fair value frameworks applicable to KOEs and other strategic balance sheet investments. Establish consistent valuation criteria across different asset types and business models. Coordinate with Finance, Investments, and KOE management teams to ensure transparent and high‑quality data inputs. Performance Measurement & Share Price Management Facilitate performance measurement of workstreams tied to valuation tracking, KPIs, and enterprise scorecards. Partner with FP&A and Corporate Finance to integrate KOE metrics into enterprise forecasting and planning. Develop dashboards and management reporting for performance monitoring and governance. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work closely with the broader CFO organization, FP&A, Strategy, Corporate Development, and KOE management teams. Support governance processes and portfolio evaluation routines as KOE coverage expands. Contribute to continuous improvement of performance analytics, tools, and reporting frameworks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2.5 + years of experience in investment banking, private equity, mana ge ment consulting, portfolio management, financial analysis, or a related role.

Responsibilities

• Support leadership and other key customers by performing rigorous analysis and effectively communicating key takeaways and recommendations
• Define an investment thesis based on the MassMutual’s competitive situation, strengths, opportunities, and risks
• Determine the value creation potential of the portfolio fr om both m arket per spective, value perspective, and ownership perspective
• Defining portfolio roles for each individual investment and translate portfolio roles into capital allocation and management decisions
• Produce and publish bi-annual KOE portfolio reports, including detailed analytics to support strategic decision making
• Regularly present results to MassMutual’s Board, CFO, QMR and other internal forums
• Engage and influence senior stakeholders to steer a strategic agenda
• Develop strong, collaborative working relationships with business partners across teams and levels
