About The Position

Role Overview: The Marsh Risk US Strategic Partnerships and Affinity senior leader will own the Strategic Partnerships function and provide leadership oversight for the US Affinity team, managing the US Affinity Leader responsible for day-to-day affinity operations. This role demands a seasoned executive with deep industry expertise in insurance and risk management, combined with a strong personal brand and extensive external relationships across the insurance, technology, and venture ecosystems. The leader will drive strategic growth by leveraging innovation, digital transformation, and high-impact partnerships to position Marsh Risk US as a market leader. Strategic Impact: This role is critical in positioning Marsh Risk US as the partner of choice for strategic alliances and affinity groups, leveraging industry expertise and a strong personal brand to unlock new growth avenues. The leader will influence Marsh Risk’s competitive positioning, revenue diversification, and client engagement strategies, ensuring sustained leadership in the evolving risk management marketplace. Requirements

  • 15+ years of senior leadership experience in insurance, risk management, or related sectors, with a strong focus on strategic partnerships and affinity marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling businesses and driving strategic growth through partnerships and innovation.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain a strong personal brand and external relationships, including board and advisory roles.
  • Deep knowledge of the US insurance market, affinity group dynamics, and emerging technology trends impacting risk solutions.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a track record of translating market insights into actionable strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) and relevant certifications (e.g., NACD Directorship Certification) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the Strategic Partnerships function, setting vision and strategy to drive Marsh Risk US’s growth through innovative partnerships and affinity programs.
  • Directly manage the US Affinity Leader, ensuring alignment and execution excellence in affinity initiatives.
  • Leverage extensive industry expertise and external networks to identify, negotiate, and cultivate strategic partnerships with affinity groups, technology innovators, and industry associations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with underwriting, product development, sales, and marketing to integrate partnership initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Champion digital transformation and innovation in partnership strategies, including AI governance and cyber risk solutions.
  • Represent Marsh Risk US as a senior ambassador in industry forums, conferences, and external advisory boards, enhancing the company’s brand and influence.
  • Drive performance metrics and reporting to evaluate the impact of partnerships and affinity programs on revenue growth, client retention, and profitability.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the partnerships and affinity teams and across Marsh Risk US.
