About The Position

Google’s Knowledge and Information Partnerships (K&IP) organization works with a wide range of external partners to help build Google products through product-enabling relationships (e.g., data licensing, content partnerships, API/platform integrations, and technology licensing). Some areas of K&IP include: Search, Shopping, Assistant, Maps, Local, Play Books or Newsstand, Research and Machine Intelligence, Developer Products, and Social Impact. The Shopping Business Development (BD) team leads our services integration and content partnerships to enable capabilities, products, and offers across the Shopping ecosystem. As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you will lead Shopping's relationship with commerce partners. You will sit at the intersection of commerce and technology, working collaboratively with internal teams to drive alignment across Google’s product areas and Commerce BD/Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) teams. This is a high-impact role requiring a blend of product strategy, resourcefulness and operational excellence. You will also help support our local shopping efforts and work with different partner types to acquire local inventory data. In this role, you will grow in an ever-evolving, fast-paced environment, demonstrates a working knowledge of internal Google processes, products, and teams, and revels in managing partnerships for Google. You will help deepen relationships with key industry partners, execute agreements, and track impact, enabling Google to be successful. You possess proficiency in skills such as agreement negotiation, relationship-building, project management, and cross-product area collaboration. The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or management consulting, or 5 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics, OEMs, telecom, e-Commerce/retail, apps, ads, gaming, or technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across multiple levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

  • MBA or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional partnership initiatives with a significant impact on business outcomes.
  • Understanding of the retail and e-Commerce landscape, including emerging trends and competitive dynamics.

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with a track record of securing favorable terms and building consensus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present to and influence executives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop partner strategy, including new partners and opportunity prospecting.
  • Conduct partner/industry research and collaborate on product strategy/goals with product management.
  • Own end-to-end partner experience to ensure agreement integration which includes negotiating and finalizing agreements, executing on account plans, pitching to partners/suppliers, resolving partner issues and advocating on behalf of partners.
  • Identify key stakeholders with Ads, Large Customer Sales (LCS), Product, Engineering, Legal, and other cross-functional teams to build networks and contribute to cross-team collaborations.
  • Coordinate timelines, goals, and objectives for assigned component(s) of a project.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of industry/vertical/market, and an understanding of Google partner/supplier ecosystems.
