About The Position

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Strategic Network Planner to provide expert-level planning and advisory support for joint-level network architectures in the Asia-Pacific region. This role involves designing, documenting, and briefing network solutions that align with operational plans (OPLANs) and mission requirements for exercises and real-world operations. Location: Ft. Shafter, Hawaii

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field
  • Active certifications at start date:
  • Clearance: Top Secret
  • Security+ CE
  • CISSP or CISM
  • Minimum of 10 years of IT technical experience, including at least 5 years in IT management
  • Experience with:
  • Army tactical communications systems
  • Mission Partner Environment enclave
  • OPLANs
  • Ability to conduct joint-level network planning
  • Ability to travel OCONUS within the Asia-Pacific region as required
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience tracking and reporting project status
  • Advanced experience developing project/program tasking to support teams and ensure objectives are met
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse military and civilian stakeholders
  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • 4-6 years of network engineering experience
  • Familiarity with routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and associated networking protocols (SNMP, SMTP, POP, IMAP, HTTP, HTTPS)
  • Experience with systems administration including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting

Responsibilities

  • Advise and manage networks and information systems for force projection in support of exercises and real-world missions
  • Prepare and brief senior leaders on network architectures, integration challenges, and potential risks or resource gaps
  • Maintain familiarity with all OPLANs and align planned communications networks for each exercise
  • Provide recommendations on future and emerging capabilities
  • Develop WAN and LAN architectures based on unit MTOE equipment and GOTS/COTS solutions
  • Document networks considering redundancy, chokepoints, and risks; submit modifications to the Change Control Board (CCB)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and coalition partners to develop communication plans for exercises
  • Organize disparate units for implementation of established network plans
  • Lead periodic TIWGs addressing network/server architectures, communications security, simulation integration, firewall ports, protocols, tactical terminals, and spectrum requests
  • Write base orders, signal annexes, and CONOPs to define mission requirements
