About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Network Engineer to help support the JSP ETM-NG program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. Selected candidate will support Mid-Shift: Tuesday - Saturday (10:00pm – 6:30am). Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed and will require full-time onsite support Meaningful work and personal impact: The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in driving the success of multiple concurrent efforts. Designs, plans, and builds communications networks. Configure routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols. Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements. Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies. Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. Plans for implementation of enhancements. Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks. Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability. Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed. Creates plans and configure systems for data communication networks. Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks. Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in leu of degree.
  • Experience: 2+ years of related experience.
  • Security clearance level: Active Top Secret required with the ability to obtain SCI.
  • Certifications: Current IAT Level II certification required. In addition, candidate must possess a current Networking Certification to include Brocade, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP), or Aruba.
  • Role requirements: Hands-on experience/knowledge with Aruba networking systems required.
  • Skills: Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN), LAN/WAN NETWORKING, Network Engineering
  • US Citizenship Required: Yes
